Black money has become a huge menace across the country since the announcement of demonetization was made. Hyderabad police have seized money over Rs 95 lakh, in new currency notes of Rs 2000.
The police informed that the money was seized from a cab on Friday during a vehicle checking drive in the city.
Based on suspicion, the police stopped the vehicle at Himayatnagar for checking during which a total of the amount of Rs 95,18,000 was found stashed in the bags.
The five people traveling in the car failed to give a satisfactory reply about the cash and were questioned. The Police added that the matter would be taken to the to Income Tax department for further investigations.
