Secretary to Finance Department and Task Force Committee Chairman on Demonetisation Sandeep Kumar Sultania held a meeting with bankers here and reviewed the status of implementation of e- cash system in the State. H directed the bank officials to immediately link the Rupay cards with Aadhar and send pin numbers to all account holders before activating the cards.

The status of supply of PoS (Point of Sale) machines to traders, prepaid cards and transactions through mobiles was also discussed at the meeting. Bankers were directed to submit the details of the progress towards digital transactions in the State after the launch of demonetisation on November 8.

The Task Force also decided to urge the RBI for the appointment of coordinators in the newly-formed districts to streamline the bank operations. State Joint Secretary (Finance) Sai Prasad and top officials from SBI, Andhra Bank and RBI were also present at the meeting.
