Hyderabad: The kingpin behind the TS EAMCET-II 2016 question paper leak case, Shiv Bahadur Singh aka Pandit, has finally been brought to Hyderabad and produced before a local court on Wednesday. The name of Singh, a native of Mozra Village in Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh, came to light when another accused Kamlesh Kumar Singh of Bihar was arrested by the CID sleuths in January this year.
Kamlesh, who had to be rushed to hospital after he complained of chest pain while in police custody, died at the Osmania General Hospital. However, he revealed vital information relating to the kingpin of the scam before he died.Based on the leads given by Kamlesh, CID sleuths worked relentlessly and nabbed the Shiv Bahadur Singh and another of his associate Anoop Kumar Singh. The duo was produced before the local court and sent to judicial custody. They would be taken into custody with court permission for questioning, CID officials said.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Kamlesh, who was a close associate of a notorious criminal in Bihar, known only as Don, introduced Shiv Bahadur Singh to the don. Before getting into the company of don, Singh was an ordinary property dealer, an official said.Ever since he joined hands with the don in 2005, Singh resorted to leakage of several question papers related to various recruitment tests and entrance examinations.
According to officials, he was involved in the leakage of Railway Group-D recruitment test paper, railway drivers examination paper leak in 2008, TET examination paper leak, PSC examination paper leak in Punjab, J&K teachers examination paper leak, Coal India recruitment test paper leak, Vardha Medical College paper leak, Chandigarh Teachers examination paper leak, Kolkata TET examination paper leak, DMRC examination paper leak and then the TS EAMCET-II 2016 paper leak.
Despite being involved in so many leakage cases, he was arrested only once earlier, CID officials said adding that he purchased the TS EAMCET paper from one Randheer, who worked in the printing press in Delhi where the question papers were printed. However, Randheer died of brain tumour in September last year, Singh told CID sleuths. Since he is the kingpin in the case, CID officials expect to elicit full information related to the case and complete the investigation soon.
