Speaking to mediapersons, KTR said the TRS government has been the first to allocate Rs 1,400 crore towards water supply in Hyderabad and that a number of reservoirs have come up in record time.

He pointed out that the government also spent additional Rs 1,000 crore on several other related works.

He said the water board would construct a 20 TMC reservoir with a estimated cost of Rs 7,700 crore. He said the reservoir would serve the drinking water needs of citizens even if the population increased five times.

He said the water board would provide drinking water to all the 180 villages inside the outer ring road with an estimated cost of Rs 4,000 crore.

KTR further said that the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) works would be completed by May end and residents in 12 peripheral villages would get water from June.

Besides this, KTR also said that the all 56 reservoirs would be completed by August and city would receive daily water supply from year end, provided if there would be good monsoon.

He informed that all the issues linked to the sewerage and the roads in Hyderabad are being resolved through GHMC and Water Board in co-ordination.
