Kothagudem: As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, Navabharat Ferro-Alloys Limited has set up a water ATM, the first-ever in the Bhadradri-Kothagudem district that dispenses mineral water, in Burgampahad on Sunday. The plant, which was set up at a cost of Rs 15 lakh, will have a capacity to dispense 1,000 liters per hour. A can of 20 liters is sold for Rs 5. The consumer is supposed to buy a card paying a fixed amount.

The card should be renewed periodically and can be done any number of times. If the card is placed in an electronic gadget, it records data and the machine dispenses 20 liters upon pressing a green switch. The ATM is operational round-the-clock. It would be beneficial to a large number of people if such machines were established at various places, people felt.
