Hyderabad: Much to the dismay of media covering ‘Capture Dharna Chowk’, about 20 police women in plain clothes were seen holding placards stating ‘Dharna Chowk Vaddu, Indira Park Muddu’ (We do not want Dharna Chowk in front of Indira Park) sitting in the chairs put up by Walkers’ Association.

The Walkers Association is demanding that the Dharna Chowk be shifted to some other place. These police women were reportedly led by a Lake Police Station Circle Inspector K Sreedevi. When some media men tried to question her about their presence in mufti, she did not respond and quietly walked away from the place.

She was also seen asking the woman constables in mufti to go away from the place following which they left the place. The issue created quite a flutter and ‘police in mufti, being used as protestors by the government’ was trending on social media. When asked about it, the Home Minister Naini Narsimha Reddy said at any dharna, police in mufti, is a normal procedure and the lady officer had only lifted the placard which was lying on the road.
