Boy sets himself on fire in a bid to imitate cartoon character in Hyderabad

In a bid to imitate the actions of a cartoon character, a 12-year-old boy Jayadev succumbed to death at Venkatapuram in Hyderabad.

Studying in 5th standard, Jayadev was staying at grandfather’s place in Venkatapuram while his parents were residing in Jiyaguda.

On Thursday, the boy was watching a character in a cartoon channel laughing while burning in flames. He had doused himself in kerosene and set himself ablaze imitating the cartoon character.

His grandparents and locals rushed him to the hospital where he succumbed to burns.
