Hyderabad: Alleging that there were many land sharks behind the Miyapur land scam, other than Gold Stone Prasad, Congress senior leader T Jeevan Reddy said that it would not be possible for the CID to inquire into it and find the names of the big fish involved.

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Jeevan Reddy said the State government was not making public the names on which 690 acres of land was registered and demanded that the State government release a white paper on the issue. He asked Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to intervene in the issue or else one would be forced to think that his hand too was there in the issue.

Demanding that the Chief Minister order a CBI inquiry into the Miyapur land scam to make the facts public, Jeevan Reddy asked the former to prove his sincerity. He made it clear that the Congress would not keep quiet if the government had failed to order proper inquiry and warned that the party would approach courts and launch public movements. He said the Miyapur land scam was similar to that of the slain gangster Nayeem case, vote-for-note case and EAMCET leakage case and asked the government not to water down the Miyapur land scam case.

He also asked the State government to tell why it was not arresting the Legislative Council Deputy Chairman Nethi Vidyasagar though the government knew that the latter had links with Nayeem.Meanwhile, alleging that the Miyapur land scam was a big one in the nation, Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy said it was sad on the part of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao as the latter was not responding on the issue.

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Ponguleti said the Congress was considering Miyapur land scam issue seriously and added that land scams were taking place in the State as the government was inactive in this regard. There was no importance to the Legislative Assembly House Committees in the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government, he pointed out and said that the land scams were taking place due to the government’s lethargic attitude.

He said there was no proper action plan with the State government, though the monsoons entered into the State. The spurious seed business was going on in the State freely, he said and revealed that he addressed letters to the CLP leader K Jana Reddy and TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy to conduct extensive CLP and PCC meetings respectively to discuss these
issues.
