Telangana man stabs woman to death for rejecting his love proposal

A 22-year-girl was murdered, one day prior to her engagement in Yadadri on Saturday.

The deceased identified as Gayatri, was a native of Yadgaripalli in Yadagirigutta. Gayatri was stabbed to death by her former lover G Srikanth who belongs to the same village.

The duo had become friends six months ago but when Srikanth came up with a love proposal, Gayatri refused following which the harassment began.

Unable to deal with the harassment, Gayatri informed the issue to her parents, who approached the community elders. Even though Srikanth was counseled and was warned to stay away from Gayatri, his harassment never stopped.

Meanwhile, Gayatri’s marriage was fixed with a man from Hyderabad and the enagagement was scheduled for Sunday. A day before the engagement, Srikanth took an opportunity of barging into the house when Gayatri was alone and stabbed her repeatedly with a knife. Neighbours, who heard screams rushed her to a hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.

The accused surrendered to the police and a case has been registered.
