Hyderabad: A host of luminaries from the both the Telugu States expressed grief and shock over the demise of literary giant C Narayana Reddy, who passes away due to a massive stroke on Monday morning here. Governor ESL Narasimhan expressed his shock on hearing the demise of Narayana Reddy.
He extended his deep sympathies to the members of the bereaved family. “I pray God to give strength to Narayana Reddy’s family members at this juncture. It was a proud moment for Telugu people when Narayana Reddy got Gnanpeeth award for his Vishwambara Kavyam,” the Governor added.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao also expressed his deep condolences over the demise of Jnanpith Awardee Dr C Narayana Reddy. In a condolence message here on Monday, the Chief Minister conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family.
“The contributions made and services rendered in the field of literature by Dr Narayana Reddy can never be forgotten, the Chief Minister said and recalled his services as a teacher, literary figure, poet, film lyricist as well as a Member of Rajya Sabha.
Meanwhile, Governor of Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu Ch Vidyasagar Rao expressed grief on the demise of Narayana Reddy. In a condolence message here, the Governor said he was deeply saddened and at a loss of words. “Dr Reddy was a versatile genius – one of the finest poets and lyricists produced by Telangana.
He was a wordsmith having mastery over Telugu language and literature,” Rao said and recollected that CiNaRe, as he was popularly known, was passionate about preserving and popularising Telugu language and culture, especially among the young generation. He also enjoyed mastery over English, Hindi and Urdu languages.
Stating that he was privileged to have a friendship with CiNaRe, Vidyasagar Rao said the world of Telugu language and literature had lost a bright star. The void caused by his loss could never be filled, he added.Expressing grief over the demise of Narayana Reddy, former Governor of Tamil Nadu Konijeti Rosaiah said CNR’s demise created a void in film business. Rosaiah paid floral tributes to Narayana Reddy’s body.
Speaking to the media, Rosaiah said Narayana Reddy’s death was a colossal loss to the literary world. “I had close friendship with CNR for 25 years,” he said. Telugu comedian Brahmanandam paid tributes to the body of Narayana Reddy. Brahmanandam said the demise of CiNaRe shocked the Telugu film industry. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandarababu Naidu expressed his deep shock over the death of C Narayana Reddy.
Narayana Reddy’s services to literature were unforgettable. Narayana Reddy had close relation with former Chief Minister late NTR, he recalled. The works of C Narayana Reddy as a writer and Rajya Sabha member would remain in the history, he said. AP Ministers Lokesh, China Rajappa, Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, AP Govt Advisor Parakala Prabhakar and others expressed condolences over the demise of Narayana Reddy.
YSR Congress Party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy expressed his shock over the demise of the renowned Telugu literary giant. “Dr C Narayana Reddy’s death created a big vacuum to the Telugu literary world,” he said in his condolence message. Jagan visited Narayana Reddy's house along with party leaders Bhumana Karunakara Reddy and Botsa Satyanarayana and paid floral tributes to the noted writer.
Stating that even though the writer lived a complete life, YS Jagan said the demise of Narayana Reddy was a big loss to the music and literary world. Telangana Ministers Kadiyam Srihari, K T Rama Rao and Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Nizamabad MP K Kavitha, Council Chairman Swami Goud, Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu and several others conveyed their heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family.
