Hyderabad: Centre of Indian Trade Union (CITU), national president K Hemalatha on Saturday urged the women employees to continue their struggle for their rights.

Speaking at the All India BSNL Women Employees meet here, she said that women working in the public sector undertakings should step up their struggle.

Hemalatha said that issues concerning the women employees were neglected by the government and managements. The women employees were also facing discrimination in the allotment of duties, besides facing professional problems and harassment at work place.

She said that security of jobs has become a major concern as the Centre’s was pursuing the policy of privatisation of the public sector undertakings. It was against this backdrop that the trade unions had decided to go on a general strike to press their demands.
