Hyderabad: In order to ensure that nothing goes wrong during the Presidential election to be held on Monday, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao held a meeting of the Legislative Party and organised a mock poll for the party MLAs.

The TRS, which is supporting the NDA candidate Ram Nath Kovind, wanted to ensure that the members do not commit any mistake during polling. KCR explained to the legislators the procedure that needs to be followed while casting their votes. He told them that they should use only the pen given by the returning officer and also told them that the name of Kovind would be listed as number two on the ballot paper.

Government Chief Whip K Eshwar and Whip Gampa Govardhan were appointed as polling agents of the party. All the MLAs have been asked to come to the party office, Telangana Bhavan, at 8 am. They will be taken to the Assembly in buses. The members of Parliament are already camping in New Delhi to cast their votes.

About six out of 90 members, including Minister C Laxma Reddy, Konda Surekha and D Manohar Reddy, were among those who did not attend the TRSLP meeting. According to sources, the Chief Minister expressed unhappiness over the absence of the members.

The Chief minister later introduced the newly formed TRSV committee, the students wing of the party to the legislators. Sources said the Chief Minister asked the committee members including the district coordinators to work for strengthening the party and take active part in the membership drive.Talking to media, Harish Rao said all the 90 MLAs of TRS would ensure the victory of Ram Nath Kovind.
