Notwithstanding the support extended by the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in the Presidential election, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will continue its tirade against the State government by exposing its failures, BJP Telangana general secretary G Premender Reddy said here on Saturday, briefing about the first day’s resolutions of the two-day BJP State meeting to the media persons.
Hanamkonda: Notwithstanding the support extended by the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in the Presidential election, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will continue its tirade against the State government by exposing its failures, BJP Telangana general secretary G Premender Reddy said here on Saturday, briefing about the first day’s resolutions of the two-day BJP State meeting to the media persons.
He said the BJP State executive meeting which began under the aegis of Union Minister of State for Home Hansraj Ahir had discussed about several issues, predominantly about TRS government’s disinclination to celebrate the Telangana Vimochana Dinam (Liberation Day) on September 17.
“During the Telangana Movement Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had promised to celebrate the Liberation Day officially, if TRS comes to power. For vested interests, he is now backtracking on it. K Chandrashekar Rao is keen on maintaining cordial relation with the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) than the self-respect of Telangana people,” Reddy said.
For the last 19 years, BJP has been demanding to celebrate Liberation Day, he said, asserting that they will fight until their demand reaches the TRS government.
Warangal former Mayor T Rajeshwar Rao said the State executive has decided to adopt a two-pronged strategy. Besides exposing the TRS government’s failures, the party will strengthen its base from grass-root level, he said, referring to their plans to grow as an alternative force in the State. Firstly, the party has decided to appoint nearly 25,000 booth-level committees out of a total 32,000 in the State, he said.
It was media that exposed the land scam, adulteration of essential commodities and drug malady, Rao said, accusing the government of indulging in large-scale irregularities in the implementation of Mission Kakatiya, Mission Bhageeratha and irrigation projects. The TRS government is misusing the Central funds, he said, quoting BJP National President Amit Shah.
Minister of Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya, National General-Secretary P Muralidhar Rao, State president K Laxman, party Floor Leader G Kishan Reddy, Nagam Janardhan Reddy and State official spokesperson A Rakesh Reddy were present among scores of party leaders from all districts.
