Hyderabad: Upset over the manner in which the Union Ministers praising the schemes of the State government during their visit to the State, the State BJP leaders have decided to take up the matter with the Central party leadership. According to senior party leaders, they will apprise the BJP Central leadership the problems the party leaders in the State are encountering in taking on the government on various issues.

BJP national president Amit Shah had asked the State party unit leaders to work to achieve the goal of coming to power in 2019. If the Union Ministers adopted a positive posture towards the State government, the party’s image would be dented, the senior leaders felt.

It may be recalled that recently Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi and his colleague Health Minister Mangal Pandey had complimented the health schemes being implemented by the State government. They both lauded the schemes and evinced keen interest to replicate them in their State. What irked the State BJP leaders is that this was not the first time that the leaders had praised the schemes of the TRS government.

The BJP leaders, including the party president K Laxman, had tried to minimise the significance of the Union Ministers’ comments by saying that they had praised the initiatives of the State government basing on the presentation by the officials and they would not be able to know the irregularities on the ground. The BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav during his visit to the city had said that praising the schemes of the TRS government should not be seen as political endorsement of the TRS party.

A senior leader in the party said the party has been fighting against the corruption in the government. “Our senior leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy has time and again raised the corruption in Mission Bhagiratha and in other irrigation project works. The Chief Minister is yet to respond to the allegations of corruption raised by the BJP leaders, the source said.

The party now has decided to brief the Central leaders on the allegations of corruption allegations in various schemes as raised by the state leaders from time to time. Ram Madhav said that the party would ensure the Central leaders are briefed on the failure of the State government in utilising the Central assistance properly. He had also raised doubts that there could be corruption in the procurement of Bathukamma sarees.

BJP official spokesperson N V Subhash said there was Central subsidy even in the tractors procured for Mission Kakatiya which were given to the TRS workers.
