The Collector attended as a chief guest at the meeting held on the birth centenary of Konda Laxman Bapuji held at the Collectorate here on Sunday.Speaking on the occasion,
the Collector said that Konda Laxman Bapuji was the great leader who strived hard for the betterment of Telangana and for the development of the society and its welfare.
He said that Laxman Ji will be remembered for ever as freedom fighter, revolutionist and social reformer. He will be remembered as ‘Telangana Gandhi’ for his services for Telangana.
Nalgonda: Acharya Konda Laxman Bapuji is the real father of Telangana, felt B Vimala, a revolutionary singer and Arunodaya Cultural Forum leader and familiar as Vimalakka.
Earlier, a foundation stone was laid for erecting the statue of Konda Laxman Bapuji.Speaking on the occasion of birth anniversary celebrations of Konda Laxman Bapuji at Bhoodhan Pochampally on Sunday, Vimalakka said that Bapuji played a crucial role in the Telangana agitation.
She reminded his contribution to the Telangana agitation during his entire life. ‘We should recognise Konda Laxman Bapuji as the father of Telangana,’ she felt.
Coming down heavily on the TRS government, Vimalakka attributed the continuing suicides of the farmers to the anti-farmers’ policies of the State government.
She charged the State government for failing in preventing the farmers from committing suicides and alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was ruling the State against the aspirations and dreams of Telangana martyrs.
