Hyderabad: Former MP V Hanumantha Rao criticised the government that it has blocked the tour of Joint Action Committee Chief M Kodanda Ram by using several sections of the police laws.

Speaking to the media here on Sunday, he said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekara Rao is now terming Kodanda Ram as an insignificant person though KCR praised Kodanda Ram as representative of four crore people of Telangana in the past during the agitation for separate State.

Rao referring to Chief Minister’s claims, Rao said `If even 500 people are not attending the meetings of Kodanda Ram, why his tour has been blocked; why the CM is afraid of the JAC leader, and why Kodanda Ram was made chairman of JAC during the Telangana movement.’

Hanumantha Rao alleged that there is Police Rule in the State. ‘The Home Minister N Narasimha Reddy, who is helpless, refers the cases to the Chief Minister and it is ridiculous to block a leader from going to the people who fought for Telangana,’ he said `The Kodandaram episode is similar to the incident of Mudragada Padmnabham of Andhra Pradesh. Dictatorship is prevailing in the State and Congress would stand by Kodanda Ram,’ the senior Congress leader said.
