Drink-drivers awarded varied jail sentences
A total of 315 persons, booked for drink-driving between October 1 and 15, by the Cyberabad police and 154 persons booked by the city police between October 9 and 15 were awarded jail sentences.
Hyderabad: A total of 315 persons, booked for drink-driving between October 1 and 15, by the Cyberabad police and 154 persons booked by the city police between October 9 and 15 were awarded jail sentences.
During the fortnight from October 1 to 15, as many as 315 cases of drink-driving were booked in the limits of Cyberabad Commissionerate. They were produced before the courts concerned. A total of 12 persons were awarded jail sentences ranging between two and 12 days.
Meanwhile, in the city Police Commissionerate limits, a total of 614 charge-sheets were filed against the drink-drivers and produced in the Court at Erramanzil. The Court had awarded imprisonment to the 154 violators and permanently cancelled driving license of two individuals.
Licences of 13 persons were also suspended. Apart from this, the court also imposed fine of Rs 13,32,900 on violators. All the violators were sentenced for imprisonment and were sent to Chanchalguda Jail.
