Out of the 158 Kilometer of Outer Ring Road (ORR), the 1 kilometer stretch of Kandlakoya which was to be completed by November this year is to be delayed due to rains from past few days and is further delayed by December end.

Hyderabad: Out of the 158 Kilometer of Outer Ring Road (ORR), the 1 kilometer stretch of Kandlakoya which was to be completed by November this year is to be delayed due to rains from past few days and is further delayed by December end.

Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) official told The Hans India that the due to the rainfall the laying of roads work cannot be taken up because of which the work is been delayed. He said that the work on Kandlakoya main carriage way is lacking behind by 20 days and now it is expected to be completed by December end.

Earlier, the 1 kilometer stretch of Kandlakoya faced many hurdles of land acquisition as the land owners of 56 acres had demanded Rs 140 crore, but the HMDA officials gave a proposal of Rs 60 crore. The department even faced problems with the contractors working on this stretch had handed over the work to sub-contractor and sub-contractor was not working properly.
