Hyderabad: With persistent intent to raise the level of deliberations in the Assembly, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Monday wanted his ministerial colleagues to play proactive role to turn the tables on the Opposition.

Fixing the responsibilities of each minister, the Chief Minister told them to react promptly to Opposition allegations during the debates. He told them that the ministers should not indulge in wordy duel but instead counter the opposition with facts and figures. He also told them to work in close coordination with the officials of respective departments.

KCR is learnt to have told the ministers, who are holding key portfolios like housing, irrigation, agriculture, animal husbandry and finance, that the opposition parties were gearing up to make “much ado about nothing,” with regard to the flagship programmes like two bedroom housing scheme, Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya, irrigation projects, employment schemes, sheep distribution programme and farmers welfare both in the Assembly and Legislative Council.

To deal with the issues effectively, the ministers have been divided into two groups. Group A would consist of Chief Minister, Deputy CM Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Finance Minister E Rajendar, Home Minister N Narasimha Reddy, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao, Excise and Prohibition Minister T Padma Rao, Medical and Health Minister C Laxma Reddy, Housing Minister A Indra Karan Reddy and Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav would answer questions and will reply to calling attention motion and matters of urgent public importance during the session.

Group B consisting of Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari, Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy, Forest Minister J Ramanna, IT minister K T Rama Rao, Transport Minister P Mahendar Reddy, Agriculture Minister P Srinivas Reddy , ST Development minister Azmeera Chandulal, Panchayat Raj Minister J Krishna Rao and Roads and Buildings Minister T Nageswara Rao would monitor the developments taking place in the House during the session and react swiftly to the issues raised by the members in the Assembly and Legislative Council.
