Hyderabad: MPRS president Krishna Madiga, who was granted conditional bail by a Secunderabad court, was released from Chanchalguda Central Prison on Wednesday.

Krishna Madiga was arrested on December 17 when he attempted to take out "Chalo Tank Bund" rally. Since then, he was lodged in Chanchalguda Jail. Following conditional bail granted by the court on Tuesday, he was released today.

Hundreds of MPRS activists gathered at the jail and gave a heroic welcome to Krishna Madiga. Speaking to media persons on the occasion, he accused the TRS Government of violating the law and Constitution. He said that the MRPS had organised a peaceful agitation. However, the State Government implicated MRPS activists in 20 cases.

He pointed out that during Telangana agitation many cases were also registered against present Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao. However, he said never in the past 20 cases were booked against anyone just for organising protest. Stating that the law should be equal for people of both upper and lower castes, he alleged that the MRPS activists were targeted because of their caste.

Krishna Madiga demanded that the Telangana Government take an all-party delegation to Delhi before the end of ongoing Parliament session to make representation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on SC categorisation. Else, he warned that the MRPS would intensify its agitation. He also announced that the MRPS would also organise hunger strike from 1st to 5th January to press for its demand.
