Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N Uttam Kumar Reddy has appealed to party workers to make next phase of the Praja Chaitanya Bus Yatra successful.

The Congress has made elaborate arrangements in all seven constituencies where bus yatra is scheduled from May 13 to 19. The TPCC chief also had a live interaction with party workers on social media platform Facebook on Friday night.

Announcing the schedule, he informed that the bus yatra will resume on May 13 after a public meeting at Mancherial followed by meetings in Chennur on May 14; Sirpur Kagaznagar on May 15; Asifabad on May 16; Bellampalli on May 17; Warangal (East) on May 18 and Wardhannapet on May 19.

He said a total of 32 Assembly constituencies have been covered in the previous phases of bus yatra. He expressed confidence that this phase too would be quite successful.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress party has emerged stronger all across Telangana. He said the response to bus yatra and other programmes being held by the party clearly shows that Congress is coming to power in next elections.

The TPCC chief said the Rythu Bandhu scheme launched by the TRS Government was nothing more than an election gimmick. He said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao is distributing Rs. 4,000 per acre to farmers only to shield himself from their ire.

"KCR neglected farmers for the last four years and now he is trying to pacify them by offering different sops. He did not even express condolences when over 4,500 farmers committed suicide and now he is trying to project himself as 'Rythu Bandhu'. People should be cautioned against these cheap tactics of KCR," he told party workers.

He also slammed KCR for misusing public wealth for his personal publicity. The State Government has not paid compensation of Rs. 6 lakh, as per GO 421, to any of families of nearly 4,500 farmers who committed suicide. However, it had spent hundreds of crores on giving publicity to Rythu Bandhu scheme. There is a huge contradiction in the claims and actions of TRS Govt and this needs to be exposed, he said. Similarly, he said that the government was yet to pay the interest amount on waived off crop loans.

The TPCC chief asked the Congress workers to explain to the people as to how previous Congress regimes have ensured welfare of farming community. He said the previous Congress regime had waived off crop loans in a single take, provided free power and supplied seeds and fertilizers on subsidised rates. He said that the State Government should pay 25% of MSP as bonus on all crops to the farmers.

Stating that the list of TRS government's failures was too long, he asked the party workers to stay united, clam and organised to support various sections of the society who have been cheated by KCR. He said all leaders of Congress party would participate in the bus yatra and address meetings at various places.
