Khammam: Children these days are hardly participating in co-curricular activities as they are under pressure to complete the assignments. But, Gollapalli Hasini is showing an extraordinary skill in classical dance Bharata natyam. Hasini, who hails from Khammam city, is the daughter of Aravind and Pragathi.

Hasini in her childhood developed fascination for classical dance Bharata Natyam. She started taking classes by the time she was five from Ashok Kumar and Jani Miya.

Dance master Ashok Kumar said that it was very essential for the children to take part in activities which would keep their immune system strong and also give them some fun. Bharata Natyam is among those activities.

Like many other Indian dance forms Bharata Natyam has different postures and poses. Hasini performs the Bharata Natyam so elegantly that she will maintain the balance with ease; standing on one foot for few seconds during the dance performance, he added.

Hasini won as many as 70 prizes along with prestigious awards like Natya Mayuri and Natya Shiromani, besides many appreciation certificates for her excellent performance in Bharatanatayam in various dance competitions held both at state and national level.

She received first prize from the hands of Information and Technology Minister K T Rama Rao and MP Poguleti Srinivas Reddy in the Balostsav programme held in Kothagudem in 2016.

Speaking to The Hans India, Hasini said, “My mother likes dancing very much. She encouraged me a lot to pursue the dance which has become my dream and passion in later stages. Even though Bharata Natyam is so deep and complex I enjoy the dance while performing it on stage.”
