Hyderabad: Congress senior leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Youth Congress workers were arrested when they tried to proceed towards Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s residence Pragathi Bhavan in a big rally on Monday.

Soon after staging ‘Bharat Bachao’ dharna at party head office Gandhi Bhavan, Komatireddy along with party workers proceeded towards Prgathi Bhavan demanding the Chief Minister to fulfill all the promises mainly construction of two bed room houses to all poor and provide job opportunities to the unemployed youth. Alert government deployed heavy police forces at Gandhi Bhavan.

Tension prevailed for some time at party office when a scuffle between Congress leaders and police forces took place. More than 100 Congress workers including Komatireddy Venkat Reddy were bundled into police vans and shifted them to nearby police stations. They were released in the evening. Speaking to media, Komatireddy lashed out at Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on the TRS government’s failure in addressing the people’s issues.

He warned the TRS chief if cases are foisted against youth leaders. Senior Congress leader dared KCR to visit Osmania University. He also came down heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi against the implementation of GST and demonetisation. He said Modi’s policies did not rescue people from their plights in the last four years.
