Vijayawada: Mahila Sessions Court on Tuesday sentenced a man to seven years rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor girl at Labour Colony under Bhavanipuram Police Station limits.
According to police, Pallepu Esuraju, 34, of Labour Colony, committed heinous crime of raping a 14-year-old girl, the daughter of a tenant on May 4, 2011. The mother of the girl lodged a complaint with Bhavanipuram police about the incident.
Public Prosecutor Garimella Daiva Prasad presented the case. The prosecution proved the guilt beyond reasonable doubt after collecting evidence from 11 witnesses. Mahila Sessions Court pronounced the judgment sentencing the convict for seven years rigorous imprisonment in the heinous case.
