Hyderabad: A cyclist was killed in a road accident on late Saturday night. According to Marredpally police, Maruthi Shinde (50), resident of Shanti Nagar, Lalapet was working as a house keeping staff in Tivoli cinema theatre.
After completing his duty on Saturday, the victim was returning home on his bicycle. When he was crossing the YMCA cross roads in Secunderabad, a lorry with high speed came from behind and rammed into his bicycle.
The victim Maruthi died on the spot.
On the information Marredpally Circle Inspector A Srinivasulu reached the spot and shifted the body to Gandhi hospital mortuary for post mortem.
He said the suspected lorry driver was in a drunken state and due to the careless and rash driving the accident took place.
