Malakpet: On the occasion of 12th Rabbi ul Awwal (birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad as per the Islamic calendar), the Dawah Islamic Academy will be holding a two-day Seerat-un-Nabi Jalsa (public meeting on the life of Prophet Muhammad) in Banjara Hills on November 20 and 21. The speakers will be focusing on character building in the light of Prophet’s teachings. The eminent Islamic scholar, Maulana Yahya Nomani based in Lucknow, will be visiting Hyderabad for two-day public meeting informed Moulana Musaddiq Al Quasmi, President, Dawah Islamic Academy at a Press conference held at their office in Malakpet on Monday.

On November 20 (Tuesday), a public meeting on Seerat un Nabi is being organised specially for women, the theme being ‘Responsibilities of Today’s Muslim Women’ in the light of ‘Teachings of Prophet Mohammed’. This will start at 2 pm at Masjid e Baqui on Road No 12, Banjara Hills. In the case of men, a public meeting will be held on ‘Seerat un Nabi and its message for Muslim Intelligentsia’. Being organised at Lake View Banjara Function Hall in Banjara Hills, it will start at 8 pm. The programmes will be addressed by well-known Islamic Scholars and intellectuals. On November 21 (Wednesday), the Dawah Islamic Academy will organise a public meeting with the topic ‘Businessmen’s contribution in the development of the society with their character’ in the light of Prophet Muhammad’s teachings. Being organised at Officers Mess in Malakpet, it will start at 2 pm. With the same topic, another public meeting will be held at 7 pm at Jalpally Gate, Airport road by same speakers.

Maulana Yahya, who did a Bachelor’s course in Islamic History at Madinah University, is the chairman of Al-Mahad al-Ali lil Dirasat al-Islamiya (Institute for Higher Islamic Studies) in Lucknow. Maulana who is the main speaker on two-day programme is the grandson of Moulana Mohammed Manzoor Nomani. He also penned a book ‘Al-Jihad,’ in which he counters the argument of put forth by both hardened Islamophobes and radical Islamists. In his book, he argues that terrorism, proxy war and the targeting of non-combatants are un-Islamic. Maulana at length denounces the claims of extremists, and contends that Muslims can indeed befriend people of goodwill belonging to other faiths and deal kindly with them.
