Bhupalpally: With all those roads leading to Bhupalpally choked with a huge traffic, it looked like that Medaram jatara has come early, but it wasn’t to be. Even though the election rally of Speaker Sirikonda Madhusudana Chary in which TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao had to address started a couple of hours late, people in large numbers turned to Bhupalpally.

Addressing the gatherings here on Friday, KCR said Chary has been his close associate for so many years besides working together for separate Telangana. “Chary will get a good position in the TRS government if he was elected with a huge majority. In return, Chary will work for the betterment of the Bhupalpally constituency,” KCR said, appealing to people not to fall prey to other party candidates’ bait. He said that during the election leaders come up with many stories and hollow promises, but the onus is on people to debate over the issues before they go for polling.

KCR said that both the Congress and the Telugu Desam Party have ruled the State for 58 years but didn’t do anything for tribals. They dragged Podu land issue for decades and now they promise to fulfil it. The TRS is determined to give pattas to podu farmers after this election, he added.

KCR criticised AICC President Rahul Gandhi for accusing TRS leaders of taking bribes. It’s the culture of the Congress, he alleged. It’s learnt that a crowd of over 70,000 attended the meeting.

Earlier addressing an election rally in Mulugu in support of TRS candidate Azmeera Chandulal, he assured people of carving Mulug as a new district. He also promised to upgrade Mallampalli village as new mandal. He also promised to come back to Mulugu on January 26 for the inaugural ceremony.

It may be noted here that Chary is up against Congress’ Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy, BJP’s Chandupatla Keerthi Reddy and All India Forward Bloc’s Gandra Satyanarayana besides independents.
