Ministers recal Dr B R Ambedkar’s services and vow to follow his principles


Hyderabad: Leaders, cutting across party lines, on Friday paid rich floral tributes to the Architect of the Constitution, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on his 126th birth anniversary. Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali, Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy, Finance Minister Eatela Rajender, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Excise Minister Padma Rao, Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya, AICC Secretary V Hanumanth Rao, Telangana Joint Action Committee Chairman, Prof Kodandaram were among those who garlanded the Statue of Babasaheb Ambedkar at Tank Bund in Hyderabad.

They recalled the services of Ambedkar and vowed to follow his ideals.Speaking at the occasion, Eatala Rajender said Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government is following the ideology of Ambedkar and implementing various welfare schemes. He said our government is functioning on the lines of the Constitution and spending adequate funds for providing pensions to the eligible.

G Kishan Reddy said Ambedkar’s constitution had opposed reservations based on religion. However, the TRS government had proposed the bill for reservations to Muslims against the norms and BJP will oppose it he said. The Congress party President N Uttam Kumar Reddy, working President Bhatti Vikramarka, senior party leaders Danam Nagender, Anjan Kumar Yadav and others also offered floral tributes.

BJP State President K Laxman, Floor leader G Kishan Reddy, MLC N Ramchander Rao, TRS MLC Farooq Hussain, TDP State President L Ramana, working President Revanth Reddy, YCP leader Y V Subha Reddy also paid tributes to Ambedkar. The Left parties led by CPM State Secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram along with leaders of other parties staged a demonstration demanding social justice to Minorities, SC, ST, BCs.

They criticised that the Centre and State governments failed to provide basic needs to the common people. MRPS President Manda Krishna Madiga and his followers also offered tributes to Ambedkar. Later they staged protest demanding that the Centre categorise SC into A, B, C and D categories. He said the MRPS will intensify the stir to mount pressure on the Centre in this regard.
