Warangal: A team of IAS officials from Jharkhand has embarked on a two-day study tour of Telangana State government’s recent initiatives – Purification of Land Records and Rythu Bandhu, farmers' investment support scheme, in Warangal on Friday. It’s learnt that the Jharkhand government is mulling over the implementation of these two initiatives from 2019 Kharif.

Warangal Urban District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil briefed about the implementation of Rythu Bandhu scheme besides explaining the exercise of purification of land records to the team led by Manjunath Bhajantri, the Joint Secretary, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperatives Department, Government of Jharkhand.

Patil said that authorities conducted purification exercise of 3.04 acres belonging to 1.27 lakh farmers in the Urban. After purification, the authorities issued 77,807 pattadar passbooks relating to 1.91 lakh acres, he added. Efforts are on to issue pattadar passbooks pertaining to 71,610 acres.

Later, the team visited Kannaram village under Velair mandal as part of field study. In the Gram Sabha, they had a lengthy discussion about the land purification process with the farmers’ coordination committees, Tahsildar and agriculture extension officers. The team also elicited information about the implementation of Rythu Bandhu scheme from the local farmers.

The other members of the Jharkhand team are - Director Agriculture Ramesh Gholap, Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner Anjaneyulu Dodde, Hazaribag Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla and Special Secretary, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Co-operative Pradeep Kumar Hazari. It may be mentioned here that the team had a meeting with the top officials of the agriculture department in Hyderabad on the first day of their tour on Thursday.

Warangal Urban District Joint Collector S Dayanand, Revenue Divisional Officer K Venka Reddy and Liaison Officer Shivanand were among others present.
