Colony residents say robbed of peace

Karmanghat: Kranthi Youth Association Ground in Kranthi Nagar in Karmaghat has become a cricket playing field for youngsters.

However, the kids playing cricket has become a nuisance to the residents here, who complain that the cricket balls are breaking their windows.

Even though the ground is meant for multi-purpose use, unrestricted entry into the ground has increased in the recent days.

The tranquility of the colony has been disturbed allegedly because of the breaking of window panes of some of the houses.

“Children come and play cricket in the ground, without any restriction,” residents said.

“This is used as cricket ground, especially on Sundays. We have asked people not to play cricket here many times, but no one responds to us.

To contain the problem, the association people put the fencing around the ground to decrease the problems caused by playing cricket, but despite this sometimes cricket balls hit the windows.

The only solution, I believe, is that the gates of the ground should be kept locked all the time and should be opened only when necessary,” said Varun Jaiswal.
