Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao took on the BJP at the Centre and Congress in the state by accusing them of noncooperation in the development of the state

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao took on the BJP at the Centre and Congress in the state by accusing them of non-cooperation in the development of the state.

Replying to the motion of thanks to Governor’s address in the state Assembly on Sunday, the Chief Minister said that on one hand there was no friendly government at the Centre and on the other the Congress in the state has also not changed even after the drubbing it received in the just-concluded elections.

“Even though there is a non-supportive government at the Centre, the state achieved the number one in the country in terms of growth rate,” KCR said. “I gave at least 500 representations but not even a single rupee was given to the state government.

Even national project status was not given to any project. If there is a supportive government at the Centre, the state is bound to get Rs 2 lakh crore additional funds,” he said. KCR said that whatever the Telangana state had received from the Centre, it was as per the prescribed norms. “Central devolution is right of the state.”

“The BJP leaders should come out of the illusion that the Centre is giving more,” he said. Though NITI-Ayog had recommended that Rs 24 crore be given to Mission Bhagiratha, the Centre had not released even Rs 24.

Stating that irrigation would be once again the top priority, the Chief Minister said his government would provide water to 1.25 crore acres in the state within three years. He reiterated that the loan waiver scheme to farmers would be implemented in the same manner in which it was implemented last time.

He said this time also the scheme will not include tenant farmers. It is between the owners and the tenants to decide on who should be taking the money. The government has nothing to do with it.“The Congress had promised to waive Rs 2 lakh loans in one go but people did not believe them.

We will waive the loans in the same way we waived previously,” he added. He said the government would implement all its promises including increased pensions after the vote on account was presented.

Interestingly, the Chief Minister praised the former chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy. He said YSR had introduced a wonderful scheme called Arogyasri. It is much better than Ayushman scheme of centre. Even 108 Ambulance scheme was his brain child and TRS government is continuing it, he said. This comment assumes political importance as it comes close on the heels of the new found alliance with YSRCP.
