Cyberabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) in association with Apple Home NGO installed 'Feed the Needy' public refrigerators. Three centres were thrown open on Thursday in west zone. Anyone who has excess food and wishes to donate can leave food in these fridges and anyone who is hungry can take out food from them.
Speaking on the occasion, GHMC west zone commissioner Hari Chandana Dadari said, "This will reduce food wastage and feed whoever is hungry. 3 centers launched today at Shilparamam junction, near Madhapur and near Chiranjeevi Blood Bank. 10 more centers are coming up soon."
GHMC Mayor B Rammohan, MLA Arkepudi Gandhi and Madhapur Corporator Jagdishwar Goud were present on the occasion.
