Medak: As Chief Minister K Chandrasekar Rao hinted that women legislators will be inducted into cabinet, all eyes are now on Padma Devender Reddy who is active in party activities. In previous term, she was appointed as Deputy Speaker of the Assembly. This time she would definitely get berth in cabinet, because at the time of Assembly election campaign while addressing a public meeting KCR sought the blessings of the voters by saying Padma Devender Reddy would reach good position, the district party cadre asserted.
The discussions reached peak about Padma’s inclusion in the cabinet. There are only three women MLAs in state. Apart from Padma Devender Reddy, Khanapur MLA Rekha Naik and Gongidi Sunitha from Aler are in the list. Party leaders of Medak district are confident that Padma has more chances of getting into cabinet.
Padma Devender Reddy started her political career as ZPTC member from Ramayampet in 2001. She won as MLA in 2004 elections. Surprisingly she lost in by elections in 2008. She contested as independent candidate as party denied ticket in 2009 but lost. But she elected again as MLA in 2014 and became Deputy Speaker of the Assembly. This time also she won with thumping majority and hoping for cabinet berth. With recent comments made by the CM, the chances of getting into cabinet have become higher.
