Tandur: Officials of Vigilance and Enforcement, Hyderabad rural took two persons into custody for allegedly procuring PDS, here on early hours of Tuesday and seized 30 quintals of rice from them. According to the officials, the team lead by Inspector P Raju nabbed Arif and Abbu, both are residents of Rajivnagar in the town. The officials said that the duo used to purchase PDS rice in the nearby villages with lower cost of Rs 10 per kg and sell them for Rs 25 per kg to poultry farms. Officials seized two vehicles along with the rice bags. FIR was registered at Yalal police station and the accused were handed over to the civil supply authorities for further action.
