BC Sub-Plan soon: Pithani Govt responds to demands from those sections

Hyderabad: Responding to the demands for a separate sub- plan for BCs, Minister for Social Welfare Pithani Satyanarayana said that the government would come out with such a plan soon. Addressing media persons on Tuesday, he said that the government had allocated Rs 4,038 crore in the 2013-14 budget for the welfare of these classes against Rs 3,010 crore in 2012-13. He said that it was Rs 1,038 crore more than in the last year's budget and the increase was around 34 per cent. Giving the details of backward classes budget, he said that the plan expenditure of 2013-14 was around Rs 3,632 crore against Rs 2,656 crore in 2012-13. He said that various backward classes federations had been allocated Rs 265 crore in 2013-14, which was 143 per cent higher than in the previous year.
