Urges court to issue order

sabi2Hyderabad: A day after filing the fifth charge sheet in Y S Jaganmohan Reddy's disproportionate assets case, the CBI on Tuesday urged the special court to issue summons to Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy and 12 others directing them all to appear before the court for trial.A

The probe agency filed a chargesheet in the case making Sabitha accused No 4. It had charged her as well as others accused in the case with undue favours extended to Dalmia Cements by the late Chief Minister, Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

The probe agency cited 53 documents and 46 witnesses in the chargesheet, which was fifth in the series filed by the CBI so far. The principal special judge, U Durga Prasad, sought to know from the CBI on Monday whether the court should issue warrants of arrest or summons to the accused named in the chargesheet.

Consequently, the CBI filed a memo urging the court to issue summons after taking the chargesheet into cognizance directing all the accused to appear before the court. A The chargesheet filed on Monday alleged that Jagan had influenced his father Rajasekhara Reddy to extend undue favours to Dalmia Cements. In return, Dalmia Cements allegedly paid Rs 95 crore as bribe by way of investing the money in the group companies floated by Jagan.
