Lok Satta plea on Aadhaar cards

Vizianagaram: Lok Satta party State unit vice-president Bheeshetty Babji said that the people are anxious over the announcement of the Centre that money for subsidised LPG cylinders will be deposited in the bank accounts of the subscribers in the district. Stating that most of them have no Aadhaar cards, he urged the District Collector, M Veerabrahmaiah, to solve this problem. A team of Lok Satta leaders led by Mr Babji met the Collector here on Tuesday. They informed him that the subscribers were facing a lot of difficulties trying to change the gas connections to their names. As they do not have Aadhaar cards they are running around dealers to help them, he said. The Collector immediately called up Joint Collector Shoba and State officer Anuradha and informed them about the agony of the people in the district. Iris images of nearly 6.5 lakh people have been collected in the past one year, he said and said that they should be given Aadhaar cards immediately.
