gantaVisakhapatnam: Minister for Ports and Infrastructure Ganta Srinivasa Rao reviewed the works on the Asilametta flyover here on Sunday with Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) officials. He instructed them to see that the works are completed by the end of this month. The minister travelled alongside the flyover till the DRM office and was satisfied with the works completed so far. He said the progress on the central lighting system was satisfactory. The number of dates given earlier for the 'much awaited' inauguration fell on deaf ears, the minister deplored. "I am hell-bent on getting this prestigious project inaugurated soon," the minister said. "No more time will be given," he warned the officials. He told them to clear the debris on the service road beneath the flyover to avoid traffic congestion. The ATM and electric sub-station situated on the DRM office premises that were obstructing the flyover works would be removed soon. The minister said permission was granted by the authorities to remove some structures belonging to the Navy, near the DRM office, which are also a cause for concern. "The removal of these structures will help in widening the service road," he said. GVMC Commissioner MV Satyanarayana, chief engineer Jayaram Reddy, flyover contractor M Venkata Rao and other senior officials accompanied the minister.
