jdVisakhapatnam: CBI Joint Director V V Lakshminarayana who investigated high profile cases like that of disproportionate assets case against YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy said here on Saturday that he was yet to receive transfer orders although the media had broken the news. Lakshminarayana who visited the local CBI office, though the purpose was not known, addressed the media here on Saturday. When asked whether there would be any 'impact of transfer' on the cases being dealt with by him so far, he said "systems are important and persons do not matter much in investigating cases". Even if he was not here, the work would not be affected and would be continued in the same direction, he added. To another question whether there was any pressure for his transfer, he replied in the negative. "I am very happy to work with very experienced officials and staff here," he maintained. In another interview with ANI news agency, Lakshminarayana, admitting his transfer issue, said that transfers are routine and his stipulated seven-year period will be over by June 11 and he would be relieved on that day. Asked about the long pending cases in Vizag, he replied as the CBI has to obtain the permission of appropriate authority to prosecute the accused, such delays are the main reason for cases remain pending. Later, the JD planted saplings on the premises of CBI office.
