Viswanath praises Kutikuppala

Visakhapatnam: Well-known film-maker Viswanath praised City-based Dr Kutikuppala Surya Rao at a book release function here on Monday, describing him as an embodiment of 'Vaidyo Narayano Hari' and a man with a mission. He lauded Dr Rao's contribution to welfare of society. "I pray to the Lord to give him more energy to continue his service to mankind," he said. Chaitanya Samiti � a literary, cultural body, organised the function to release a book 'Oka Chalanam � Oka Jwalanam: Padmasri' written by Dr Rao. EAS Sarma, former Union Secretary, who presided, said the autobiography of Dr Rao was inspiring. 'He is known for dedication, perseverance and innovation in serving society by giving medical aid to the needy, free education to the deprived sections and taking up innovative projects relating to Global Handwash and HIV prevention'. B Sivadhar Reddy, Commissioner of Police, appreciated Dr Rao's good work since 2003, particularly research, and highlighted his association with Director-General of ACB Prasada Rao. Dr. Rao recalled his efforts in launching a war against HIV/AIDS in the last 25 years. Samiti president Dr BV Appa Rao spoke.
