Rajahmundry MP flays TRS, Jagan and BJP Arun kumarVisakhapatnam: Even if the 'debatable issue' of bifurcation of the State is imminent, there is no danger nor is there anything to lose, said firebrand Congress MP from Rajahmundry Vundavalli Arun Kumar. At a Meet-the-Press programme organised by the Visakhapatnam Journalists Forum (VJF) in the city on Thursday, Arun Kumar expressed his personal opinion that he did not see any danger in bifurcation of the State. Lashing out at the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and its chief K Chandrashekar Rao, Arun Kumar said that they are hurling abuses against the people of Andhra and Rayalaseema calling them 'dacoits', when the issue of separation must be discussed and decided in Parliament and the Assembly. He also quoted Dr BR Ambedkar's recommendations that India needed a second capital for South India. Ambedkar feared that North India may dominate the South and hence mooted the idea of having a second capital and even went on to recommend Hyderabad as an ideal city to be the second capital of the country, the MP said. "We have referred this proposal to the decision makers in Delhi but the timing now is not right as KCR is eyeing Hyderabad," he said. He praised the UPA government for taking some historical decisions and said it was this government which brought in the Right to Information Act. "This is a very powerful weapon to eradicate corruption and it is our biggest achievement," Arun Kumar said. In response to a question whether Telangana would be accorded statehood if the NDA government is voted to power, Vundavalli said, "Let them come to power." He recalled that during LK Advani's tenure as Home Minister, the BJP was opposed to a separate Telangana State and wondered how they are talking of Telangana now. He ruled out the possibility of BJP coming to power. He came down heavily on YSRCP leader Mysoora Reddy's stance of supporting Jaganmohan Reddy and giving him a clean chit when the same leader was critical of Jagan amassing wealth when he was in the Telugu Desam Party. "Jagan never denied during the CBI probe that he amassed wealth. Instead he wanted to know what was wrong in amassing wealth," he said. However, Vundavalli was all praise for the late chief minister Dr YSR and said that he was not a corrupt.
