Speaking at a meeting with health officials and senior assistants of health department here on Thursday, the DM&HO suggested health officials to make people open bank accounts and encourage them towards cashless transactions through thumb impressions, mobile banking and debit cards to digitalise the district.

Sircilla: Following District Collector D Krishna Bhaskar’s orders to make the district 100 per cent digital, District Medical and Health Officer (DM&HO) Dr R Ramesh directed health officials and Senior Assistants of health department to motivate people for carrying out cashless transactions in the district.

Speaking at a meeting with health officials and senior assistants of health department here on Thursday, the DM&HO suggested health officials to make people open bank accounts and encourage them towards cashless transactions through thumb impressions, mobile banking and debit cards to digitalise the district.

ICICI bank Deputy Manager Sridhar explained the officials about various methods of cashless transactions such as through Internet by Unified Payment Address (UPA), Virtual Payment Address (VPA) and swiping machines along with consumer codes cashless transactions can be carried for all business purposes including retail shops and vegetable, and fruit markets too.

Uneducated persons and those living in rural areas can carry out cashless transactions by using their thumb impression, he added. Programming Officer K Anand Bhaskar, Dr Suman Mohan and ICICI Bank Senior Manager Srishailam were present along with health officials.
