Warangal: Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu has suggested setting up door frame metal detectors (DFMDs) at the entrance of historic Bhadrakali Temple in the city.

The Commissioner, along with Warangal police Commissionerate security review committee members, has inspected the temple in Warangal on Wednesday. The committee comprising DCPs and ACPs was meant to review security measures under the Commissionerate on regular basis.

The officials moved around the temple to study the measures required to enhance security at the temple. They interacted with the temple authorities and discussed on arrangements to be made to make it safe and secure place.

Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner Sudheer Babu told the temple officials to install the DFMDs at the entrance as in recent time the shrine was being frequented by large number of devotees and VIPs.

He directed the local inspector to intensify patrolling at the temple surroundings along with providing point books at select locations. He asked Warangal ACP to integrate the closed circuit televisions (CCTVs) installed the temple with the ACP office for better surveillance.

DCP MS Venugopal Rao, ACPs Chaitanya Kumar, Muralidhar, B Janardhan, inspector Ravi Kumar, S Ravi Kumar, SI Ranjith Kumar, temple superintendent Harinath and others were present.

Later on the day, the Commissioner Sudheer Babu handed over prizes to the winners of drawing competition organised on road safety. Nearly 250 students from different schools took part in the competition.

A student from Greenwood High School B Jayanth won first prize. Traffic ACP SM Surendranath, traffic inspectors Ramanujam, Bapu Rao, RI Srinivas, SIs Ravi Raja, Purnachander and Prabhakar Reddy were present.
