Karimnagar: By adopting perfect discipline, students could reach higher positions in their lives, observed District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed. He was the chief guest at the Children’s Day celebrations organised by District Welfare Officer at the Collectorate auditorium in Karimnagar on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Sarfaraz Ahmed said the first Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru was fond of children and had lot of affection and love towards them. He always insisted on striving hard for laying firm foundations for the future citizens. Remembering him, Children’s Day is celebrated on his birthday across country. Childhood is very precious.

By listening to the teachers, the students must focus on their studies to reach higher positions in their life following strict discipline. The State government is striving hard to provide quality education to the students by opening Gurukul schools across the State, informed the Collector.

By utilising the opportunities provided by the government, students must keep perfect goals in their life to become IAS, IPS, doctors and engineers and must fulfill the aspirations and dreams of their parents. The students must inform to either their parents or to their teachers if anybody tries to threaten them or lure them by offering some edible things. Every child has the right to live freely without any burdens and it is the responsibility of everyone to give protection to them, suggested the Collector.

Later, prizes were distributed to the students, who won in competitions, organised on the occasion of Children’s Day. Chairman of the State Minority Corporation Akbar Hussain, Additional DCP Sanjeev Kumar, Regional Director of Women and Child Welfare department Ramulu, District Panchayat Raj Officer Narayana Rao, District Tribal Welfare Officer Ambuji, ACP Usha Rano, MEO Chokka Reddy and Social worker Kavitha Devi were present along with others.
