Mahabubabad: The representative of Telangana Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) observed National Press Day on a grand note by cutting a cake here on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, TUWJ district president Chittanuri Srinivas said that the journalists across the country will celebrate the free and responsible press day by observing National Press Day on November 16 for maintaining high standards of press, which the people expect. The National Press Day is celebrated since 1997 on every November 16 across the country, which portrays the responsible and free press in India, he added.

Srinivas urged the scribes to work united for the betterment of the society by maintaining high standards of the press along with fighting for the rights of journalists. He demanded the government allotment of double bedroom houses and accreditation cards of second phase immediately to all eligible journalists.TUWJ leaders U Ranga Chowdari, Madhu, Murali Mohan, G Srihar, Babu Rao, Kiram, Viajay, Venu, Suman, G Ashok, Jeevan, Narasimha Rao, Ramesh, Raj Kumar, Sathyam, Raghupathi Goud and P Srinivas Goud were present along with others.
