Call for efforts to create AIDS-free society
Peddapalli Municipal Chairman L Rajaiah called upon the people of all sections to make efforts to create an AIDS-free society. Participating in an awareness programme on AIDS at Amarchand Kalyana Mandapam to mark the World AIDS Day, he released awareness posters.

“It is better to prevent AIDS rather than getting treatment,” saying that there is no cure of the disease. He gave away mementoes to the staff of health department for their meritorious services. Samskruthika Saradhi members were appreciated for their songs. Earlier, the medical department staff, youth and students took out an AIDS awareness rally, raising slogans, from the Collectorate to the Kalyana Mandapam. Peddapalli MLA Dasari Manohar Reddy flagged off the rally.
Among those present were District Medical and Health Officer Dr K Pramod Kumar, DIEO Kalpana, Deputy DMHO Krupabai, AO Abdul Baba, HIV Supervisor Srinivas, DPRO G Veeraiah, Health department staff and students.
