Basar temple income accounts 43 lakh

Basar (Nirmal): Sri Gnana Saraswathi Devasthanam temple at Basar in Nirmal district earned a revenue of Rs 43.12 lakh cash in the ‘hundi’ collections, which was counted on Tuesday, according to a statement from the temple authorities.

The temple authorities also found 80 grams of gold and 2.4 kgs of silver in hundi, besides 24 notes of foreign currency. According to temple’s in-charge executive officer T Somayya, the above earnings are for the period between October 25 and December 12.
