Warangal Urban: Joint Collectors of Jangaon, Mahabubabad, Warangal rural and Bhupalpally districts got a rare opportunity of hoisting the national flag in their respective districts on the 69th Republic Day celebrations on Friday.

The Joint Collectors did the honours in the wake of transfers of District Collectors in the said above districts. The Collectors of Jangaon, Mahabubabad and Bhupalpally were transferred in the first week of January while Warangal Rural Collector was transferred during December last year.

It might be noted that Yadadri-Bhongir District Collector Anita Ramachandran was placed on full additional charge (FAC) as Jangaon Collector while Mancherial District Collector R V Karnan was made in-charge of Jayashankar-Bhupalapally on FAC.

Similarly, Khammam Collector Lokesh Kumar was made in-charge of Mahabubabad on FAC and Warangal Urban Collector Amrapali Kata was in-charge of Warangal Rural district on FAC. Since, the in-charge collectors could not attend Republic Day celebrations in the above districts, Joint Collector of Warangal rural M Haritha, of Jangaon M Vanaja Devi, of Mahabubabad K Damodar Reddy, of Jayashanker Bhupalpally D Amoy Kumar hoisted the national flag and addressed the public after inspecting the guard of honour.

They presented a report on the developmental and welfare activities being taken up in the district and presented certificates of appreciation to the best employees. At Jangaon the stalls put up by different departments depicting their activities stood as an attraction. Meanwhile, at Bhupalpally, Joint Collector Amoy Kumar inspected the guard of honour presented by the police at Ambedkar Stadium by walking instead of riding on a decorated vehicle usually used during Independence Day and Republic Day.

Lack of an open top vehicle was said to have forced the official to walk around the stadium. Superintendents of police of Mahabubabad N Koti Reddy, of Bhupalpally R Bhaskaran took part in the celebrations in their respective districts while at Jangoan DCP Malla Reddy attended the celebrations.
