Everything is spot on for the Wednesday’s Sammakka-Saralamma jatara, the in-charge Collector R V Karnan said, speaking to the media persons here on Tuesday. “Coordinating with all the district wings, the administration made it possible. The jatara administration has been divided into 40 sectors, each having a head and support staff,” Karnan said.
Medaram (Jayashankar-Bhupalpally): Everything is spot on for the Wednesday’s Sammakka-Saralamma jatara, the in-charge Collector R V Karnan said, speaking to the media persons here on Tuesday. “Coordinating with all the district wings, the administration made it possible. The jatara administration has been divided into 40 sectors, each having a head and support staff,” Karnan said.
Referring to the administration’s effort to make it a Green Jatara, he said that in a bid to deter plastic bags, they had distributed 10 lakh cloth bags.“The administration also tried its best to promote the jatara at international level by spreading its greatness through social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter etc.,” Karnan said.
Special Officer for the jatara Prashanth Jeevan Patil said that arrangements are in tune with the expectations of the devotees. The devotees are also set to descend on Medaram from neighbouring States.
The developmental activity taken up in Medaram is not just based on jatara but also with a viewpoint to attract tourists, he added. Joint-Collector D Amay Kumar, ITDA project officer Chakradhar Rao and I&PR Deputy Director DS Jagan were among others present.
