A five-day photo exhibition by the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP) of Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry was launched here on Wednesday.

Bhupalpally: A five-day photo exhibition by the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP) of Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry was launched here on Wednesday.

The district revenue officer P Mohanlal, mandal praja parishad member K Raghupathi Rao and MPDO K Venkateshwarlu attended the inaugural ceremony of the exhibition. The exhibition was being organised with the theme ‘Saath Hai-Vishwas Hai- Ho Raha Vikas Hai’ to highlight central welfare schemes.

Speaking on the occasion, they called upon the villagers to learn about the welfare schemes being implemented by the Central government and to get benefitted from them. Mohanlal lauded the efforts of the DAVP in organising the exhibition through its outreach campaigns, whose focus is on villagers, poor, farmers, dalits, youth and women.

The campaign would help to educate them on how to avail welfare schemes are aimed at their well-being. He said the State government is also implementing numerous welfare schemes for the benefit of cross section of the society. The district administration is making the best efforts to ensure the schemes reach the beneficiaries.

Raghupathi Rao said the Central government is bringing out various schemes for welfare of the people particularly minorities, down trodden and women and child and girls. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also committed towards the development of the poor and farmers and the power sector in country is growing fast.

DAVP coordinator M Srinivas and exhibition officer Suresh Dharmapuri explained about the importance of the exhibition and new central schemes. The photo exhibition comprises of 60 panels which covers various themes on welfare measures and steps by the central government transforming the lives of people.

The programme aims at highlighting the achievements of the NDA government in the last three years such as Goods and Services Tax (GST), surgical strike, strengthening internal security, improving economy with a special focus on poor, they said.
